Located along the Central Texas Coastal Birding Trail, our grounds near Corpus Christi provide a unique habitat and opportunity for Texas birding and bird watching vacations. We invite guests to roam freely, enjoying a large variety of native and migratory land and water fowl. For bird watching, we have a number of paths, many secluded hideaway spots away from human civilization, wetlands that house migratory seasonal fowl, and river and lake spots accessed by canoes, kayaks and small dingies.

CraneOur property has several areas of South Texas brushlands, which remain untouched by man's development activities. Harold R. Holt's "A Birder's Guide to the Texas Coast" remarks that typical resident birds of these mesquite brushlands include the Lark Bunting, Bronzed Cowbirds, Lark Sparrows, Green Jays, Eastern Bluebirds, Vermillion Flycatchers and American Goldfinches, in addition to many other species.

Wetlands   Our large wetlands offer food and roosting areas for varied waterfowl. Woodstorks, ducks of many varieties, Roseate Spoonbills, Blue Herons, geese and hundreds of Sand Hill Cranes call this area home. Additionally, a trip down the Nueces River or around Round Lake is sure to provide a relaxing, quiet way to view birds rarely seen by others in their natural environment in TX.

We have enjoyed our experience with the Coastal Bend Land Trust Photo Contest. Through this, many groups have joined us and learned the ease with which our guests can enjoy the abundance of birds that our area boasts. Many of the photos on this page (taken by our sponsored photographer) were submitted for competition to the contest.
