Hunting and Skeet Shooting
PASSING ON OUR WAY OF LIFE TO YOU AND YOURS
South Texas hunting is known to be some of the best in the world, and hunting at Knolle Farm & Ranch is more than just shooting. It is about the experience that you savor and take with you for a life-time. After opening our doors to guests in 1997, sharing our way of life and passion for the land, has become a big part of who we are. Ours is a legacy of distinction and true Texas hospitality and charm, rooted in generations of nurturing and managing this land and the wildlife on it, where sporting traditions are a part of our culture and daily way of life.
With hundreds of acres of prime Texas hunting, established wetlands, riparian forests, this quintessential country inn, caters to outdoor enthusiasts and hunters who desire the finest in shooting, well managed wildlife, and superior personal service. We welcome both experienced and novice shooters to a truly memorable experience.
Be it dove, deer, waterfowl, or turkey, our wildlife, habitat, and hunts are carefully overseen to allow for the best opportunity possible to have a great hunt. There is no place better to take a youngster on a “father/ son/ daughter” hunt, teaching youth the proper ways and appreciation of hunting, experiencing the thrill of seeing thousands of ducks or geese, a myriad of deer, hogs and turkey wander out of the woods, or just watching and listening to the sights and sounds of nature. With well mowed scendaros, comfortable blinds, and experienced guides, people marvel at the ease and convenience of our hunts; just right for all ages!
Guests are also encouraged to enjoy our “skeet/ sporting clay” range, where clay pigeons explode from big throwers in a grove of oaks, challenging shooters and simulating natural dove, duck and goose hunting. (This is a great way to enjoy shooting regardless of the time of year, and a great learning tool for those who want to join in the shooting fun!)
Our Hunts Include
WATERFOWL OF ALL KINDS
RIO GRAND TURKEY HUNTS
Skeet Shooting: Fine Tuning Your Shooting Skills
Imagine the challenge of shooting clays as they fly through the branches of the huge oak trees. Yes, we put our own twist on the regular skeet shooting range, (which, due to it’s being in a natural environment is really called “sporting clays”). You still have your traditional “high house” and “low house”, and can shoot singles or doubles; but, instead of the typical shooting range, we mounted the big electric throwers in tree houses, where the clays cruise out of from, following paths through the tree limbs, dripping with moss. Additionally, this is entirely private, without others standing in line behind you, rushing you and continually interrupting as you focus on getting it right!
Yes, this can be quite a challenge, and is great for shooters of any level, be they experienced tournament level shooters, or novices just learning to handle a gun.
Whether you need an afternoon activity for your groomsmen, are introducing shooting to a young outdoorsperson, or a “significant other”, or just having a relaxing afternoon honing your skills, our version of skeet shooting is sure to add a new dimension to this great activity.
