A Small Luxury Country Inn And Private Retreat

Our home and barn, now home to our Texas and Corpus Christi Texas Bed and Breakfast, were the heart of Knolle Jersey Farms – the “World’s Largest Jersey Herd” of cattle for three generations. Situated just minutes from downtown Corpus Christi in the lush Nueces River Valley of TX, our towering oaks provided a backdrop for many years of Boy Scout jamborees and our barn hosted bus loads of school children who viewed the gentle Jersey being milked and fed. The years have changed, Texas beef cattle now graze our pastures; but the spirit of hospitality and the desire to share God’s bounty has not changed. Therefore, we continue to open our doors and welcome you to share our genteel way of life in our country inn that is located in the renovated barn and cottages that were a part of the original dairy headquarters, as well as the historic McGloin Home just across the river from us.

This is the perfect Texas and Corpus Christi Texas Wedding & Reception venue and a favorite site for Texas Family reunions, and small Corporate Groups, with facilities and staff to take care of your event, rain or shine. Our expansive grounds, beautiful country chapel, picnic areas and waterfront provide the perfect setting for special occasions, and our Event Facility provides a back-up facility in case of inclement weather. Of course, we also cater to small family get-togethers, couples in need of a romantic weekend away, and hunters desiring a world-class hunting experience.

Our Headquarters or “Main Compound” is spread over acres of shaded grounds and hundreds of acres of well groomed pasture, all sloping down to a lake bordered by huge oak trees. Surrounded by white fences, this Main Compound includes our private home, and Texas B&B Facilities – the Main barn and two guesthouses, a beautiful infinity pool and patio, an Event Facility gorgeous outdoor chapel, and a traditional English garden, (supplying many of vegetables and herbs), surrounding a playground that invites “children” of all ages to take a slide or pick a fresh piece of broccoli.

We have sleeping B&B Accommodations for up to 22 guests. Our renovated barn houses the Main Guest House; this fully equipped “home”, with up to 4 bedrooms, can accommodate up to 8. Also housed in the main barn are horse stalls, a large tack room, sitting area, upstairs library and deck. The separate “Casita,” on the other side of the homestead acreage, provides a very private getaway, for two, in a charming tiny cottage, complete with living and kitchen area and large back porch. “Chapel-View” is our newest renovation, and provides a gorgeous view of the valley below our home. With 950 sq. ft. of space, two bedrooms, and all the comforts of home, it charms all who stay there. Finally, across the river, we have the McGloin House, which offers sleeping accommodations for 8, living, dining and kitchen areas, and a private lake for your enjoyment.

Although our activities are numerous and varied, we are not a dude ranch with organize activities, (except for guided huts and cooking classes.) Our belief is that our guests come here for privacy and to relax and get away from the structure of daily life. We share our facilities with you and you are welcome to enjoy them in the way you would your own. We will make sure you are comfortable and safe with any activities and equipment, but we allow you your freedom. If lessons or extra services are necessary we will need to charge a fee for these special services.

Running right down the middle of this ranch in San patricio, Jim Wells and Nueces counties is the Nueces River, and much of our life and history stems from this secluded waterway. Rich in Texas history, this river valley was home to ancient Indian civilizations, and armies fighting in the Texas/ Mexican revolution; therefore, Texas folklore and archeological remnants abound. We enjoy the river for a host of recreational activities, including relaxing picnics, kayaking and exploring. The river and its essential water is truly the lifeblood of Mother Nature, our cattle ranch, and our present and past history.

With wildlife abundant here along the riverbanks, many activities evolve from this aspect of our ranch. Hunting opportunities are varied, from whitetail deer and hog hunts, to waterfowl and dove hunting. Wildlife habitat is well managed and hunts guided by experienced guides, (except casual dove hunts). If you are a birder or photographer, this is the place to be! After years of hosting both amateur and professional photographers in photo contests, we are familiar with your needs and know where to send you to get the best glimpses of Mother Nature at her best. We are a”pet-friendly” location, welcoming your horses. Our barn houses 6 horse stalls and we have outside paddocks and arena as well, accommodating those who would like to bring their own horses. Dogs are also ordinarily allowed, (WITH PRIOR REQUEST AND PET FEE, PLEASE). Guests are asked to use a kennel to house their favorite canine while here. (There is a pet fee for dogs.)

Whether you desire a Romantic Night, Honeymoon package, “Spa Day”, or “Gourmet Delight” , with Cooking Class, (completed with an evening if fine dining), we promise an experience that will leave wonderful memories for years to come. Our versatile staff is here to meet your every need, from providing great food to guiding a world class hunt, or other outdoor activity, or hosting the perfect wedding or corporate event. We invite you to join us and soak up the pampering that makes this a truly unique experience. Meeting you and accommodating your desires would be a true pleasure for us; we hope to see you soon!
